GeneseeFun.com is operated by the Greater Flint Arts Council (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

  • Information you give us. When you create an account, submit an event, organization, venue, artist profile or classified listing, or contact us, we collect the details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number and the content of your listing or message.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect standard log information and usage data, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the links you follow. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.
  • Location. If you choose to search for events near you, your browser may ask for permission to share your approximate location. We use it only to sort and filter results and do not store it.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use them to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as your language and saved favorites) and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Listings are public

Events, organization, venue and artist profiles and classified listings are published for anyone to see. Contact details you enter into the public fields of a listing will be visible to the public and may appear in our calendar feeds and on partner websites that syndicate our listings. Do not include information in a public listing that you do not want to be public.

How we share information

  • With service providers that host the site, deliver email, provide maps or analytics, or otherwise help us run it. They may use the information only to perform those services for us.
  • With partner arts calendars and websites that display our public listings.
  • When required by law, or when we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the Greater Flint Arts Council or others.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

  • You can review and update the information in your account and your listings after signing in.
  • You can ask us to delete your account or your personal information by contacting us at the address below. We may keep information we need to comply with the law or resolve disputes.
  • You can control cookies in your browser and opt out of Google’s personalized advertising as described above.

Security and retention

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no website can guarantee complete security. We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the services described here and to meet our legal obligations.

Children

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Listings and articles often link to other organizations’ websites and ticketing services. This policy does not cover those sites; please review their own privacy policies.
